My passion for photography began in my very first year of college at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. As part of the Architecture curriculum we were required to take courses in all of the arts including painting, sculpture, and photography. The photography courses involved learning and understanding the entire darkroom process developing both both color and black & white the old chemical process way. My very first camera was a Pentax SLR but was soon traded in for a Nikon F and I have never left the Nikon family since. Today everything is all digital and I shoot primarily with a Nikon D850, a Nikon Z7 and have recently incorporated the Olympus OM-D EM1 Mark II mirrorless camera system into my mix. The years spent in the darkroom have served as a great background for post processing in today’s advanced software tools.
Currently my photographic work is being sold at Celebrate Local in the Liberty Town Center, West Chester, OH. And a number of images are also available in the Easton Town Center in Columbus, OH.
In addition to these locations, I share Studio 221 space with a mutual friend and photographer in the Pendelton Art Center in Cincinnati, OH.
Besides photographing and editing of my images, I also do all of my own printing to a wide variety of photographic papers including luster, exhibition fiber, metallic glossy and cold/hot press natural cotton based papers. Using a large format Epson Stylus Pro, much of my work is also printed on canvas then stretched on 1 1/2″ or 1 3/4″ gallery wrapped bars.
I have also refined a new process of applying a very high gloss acrylic epoxy coating to some of my finest images. These are available on a very limited basis due to the time and tedious process involved and may only be purchase at Studio 221 in Pendleton Art Center. The results, however, are quite spectacular with amazing color, clarity and durability. I hope you enjoy viewing a sampling of my work on this web site which will be updated frequently with new images. Most of the images shown on this site are available in a variety of sizes printed on Ultra Premium Luster paper and carefully rolled and shipped in mailing tubes ready for framing.
